Helping people by bringing order to a chaotic situation has been my life’s work for more than three decades, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I got into the “helping people” business when I became a junior firefighter at the age of 13 in Long Island, NY. My family moved to southern Florida when I was 16, and I became a career firefighter at 18. For the next 22 years, I divided my time between firefighting, completing my higher education degrees and raising my own family.
It was a neighborhood poker game in 2005 that initiated my entry into the mortgage business. A neighbor said he could use help at his mortgage brokerage and my life as a firefighter allowed time for me to take on a second job. I quickly realized that, even in the mortgage business, I was still running to help solve problems that others were running away from, and that helping people realize the dream of home ownership had many similarities with helping people experience a fire or medical emergency. In both cases, many people can experience high amounts of stress and the situation can be confusing and disorienting at times. I get personal satisfaction in helping people get through these times in their lives.
I believe that, if done correctly, the mortgage process really shouldn’t be stressful, so I go out of my way to explain each step in order to leave my clients with a better understanding of what is needed to prepare a full and complete file.I address any potential questions well in advance, and when I tell someone they are pre-approved, they can shop for their dream home with confidence.
When I am with my wife and children, we enjoy traveling, fishing and playing sports together. The community we live in is filled with kind-hearted people that are always willing to jump in and lend a hand when someone is in need. I believe that happiness comes from surrounding yourself with like-minded people. We’ve definitely found that here.
